Why do we have a privacy policy? 

We value your privacy and wish to ensure you of why it will be collected, and how it will be stored. 

Why do we collect this information?

We collect personal information to allow us to contact you regarding AAFCS activities or relevant topics (within reason). 

We may also use your personal information for the purposes of our internal administration, research, planning, marketing, campaigns, fundraising and project development. These reasons will be made apparent to you at the point of collection. 

Any personal information you provide to us may be disclosed, if appropriate, to companies who provide services on our behalf, such as mail, databases, our third-party website hosts, as well as for audit, payment processing and research services.

We won’t use or disclose your personal information for any secondary purpose, unless:

(A) that secondary purpose is related to the primary purpose for which we collect that information and you would reasonably expect the disclosure in the circumstances; or
(b) you have given us your consent.

 Method of contact

We may contact you by email, social media or via your phone (including texts and calls).

 In specific circumstances, this may include disclosure to overseas recipients in the USA, Canada and India. We may also disclose your personal information to volunteers who assist with our work. We describe below the steps that we take to make sure these third parties respect your personal information and keep it safe.

Storage of Information

We may collect and hold personal information you provide us through our website, over the phone, or by email. This may be so we can contact you about the event/activity in which you provided us the contact information, to provide relevant updates or contact you in regards to supporting AAFCS.

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised use.

Personal information is held only for as long as the personal information remains relevant to the purpose for which it was collected. 

Donations

Donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

Access, correction discontinuation of services such as information storage

We’ll take all reasonable steps to ensure any personal information is accurate. For those, whose information may have changed since collection, they are able to contact the AAFCE team via email to change their details. 

We will also take all reasonable steps for those who wish to revoke their information from our databases, as possible. We will respond to your request and attempt to provide you with the data within 30 days of receipt of your request - unless the AAFCS team is no longer in operation.

Please note that this Privacy Policy may change in the future (or have changed in the past). The current policy will be displayed on the AAFCE website/s.

If you consider a breach of the Australian Privacy laws or your rights in relation to privacy has occurred, you may direct these to the contact form on our website (www.aafcs.au) or directly email [email protected]

If you do not consider our response satisfactory, you may contact the Australian Privacy Commissioner.
